Laurel Srevens (Jane Russell) is a movie star who's kidnapped by a pair of desperate amateurs - Mike Valla (Ralph Meeker) and "Dandy" (Keenan Wynn). But the pair get cold feet, and decide to let her go. Worried abut the effect a faked kidnapping would have on her career, Laurel tells them they've got to go through with it.
