Just finished this series on BBC. Raw and truly intense dramatization of the political and religious struggle in 16th century England. The scenes of torture are crushing in their intimacy. Powerful and riveting counter-narrative to existing ones about the 5th of November. History is written by the victors. All sides have bloodstained hands in the name of religion and monarch. Mark Gatiss is an incredible storyteller and Sian Webber is absolutely compelling as Lady Dorothy.
